What happens when you delete your account
Trackr lets you delete your account from any device, at any time, without having to contact support. No cancellation forms, no phone calls, no waiting period.
When you confirm deletion we do the following inside a single database transaction:
If you're a regular member of an organisation
- Your profile, email, password hash, session tokens, push notification tokens, and personal notifications are permanently erased.
- Action items you created or were assigned get reassigned to your organisation's admin so the team's work history isn't lost.
- Your entries in the activity log remain for audit purposes but the
user_idfield is anonymised.
If you're the only admin of an organisation
- If there are other members, you must first promote another member to admin. We won't let you strand your team.
- If you're the last remaining member, confirming deletion will permanently delete the entire organisation, including every action item, meeting, file attachment, activity record, invite, and audit log belonging to it.
Retention window
Encrypted database backups are kept for 30 days after deletion, then permanently erased. During those 30 days the data is not accessible through the app or any API — it exists only as ciphertext inside off-site encrypted backups, used for disaster recovery. After day 30, it is gone for good.
What we keep for legal reasons
Where we are legally required to do so, we retain certain billing, tax, and fraud-prevention records separately from your account data. These records are pseudonymised and do not include anything from your action items, meetings, or notes. Full detail in our Privacy Policy §8.
Delete your account
To delete your account, please sign in first. We need to verify it's really you before permanently erasing your data.
Questions
Will my teammates be notified?
If you delete your personal account (you're not the sole admin), your organisation's admins will see an "account_deleted" entry in the activity log with your former user ID, but no personal data. If you delete the entire organisation, the organisation itself ceases to exist — so there's no one left to notify.
Can I export my data first?
Yes. From the dashboard, use the "Export" option on the actions and meetings pages to download CSV or PDF copies before you delete.
Will I get a confirmation after deletion?
No — because we've erased your email address from our systems. The confirmation you see in the browser immediately after clicking the link is the only receipt.
Can I recover my account after deletion?
No. Deletion is final. You can create a new Trackr account using the same email address, but prior data cannot be restored.
